My Favorite Dances

Every year, in the finale, the judges choose their favorite dances from the season for the dancers to re-perform.  Before I watch tonight's finale, I thought I would play a little "If I Chose the Favorites."  I have to say, there were A LOT to choose from, and narrowing it down was not easy.  So here they are...



Best Dance of the Season / Maybe All Time - All One Shot Top 20

OK, maybe it's cheating to pick this, since it was so special/unique, but this was seriously one of my all-time favorite moments on the show.

Best "Amy and Fik-Shun Are Adorable" Routine - Hobos

I just loved character, the personalities, the music!  Everything.

Runner up: Bellhops

Best "Amy is a Beast" Number - Wicked Game

Duh, this has to be in the tops.

Runner Up: Amy is a beast in everything.  So every dance.

Best "Early Eliminated Dancers" Routine - Afro Jazz

I wanted to represent the people that were eliminated early, and I thought this was really great.

Runner Up: Mariah and Carlos Contemporary  Also, can I mention again that Carlos was CHEATED.

Best "Aaron and Jasmine Being Sexy" Routine - Couch

OK, this was the hardest to only pick one.  There are three runner-up routines, and they are all valid picks.  Seriously.
Runner Up: Gold Digger, Crime Scene, Bottom of the River

Best Dramatic Character-Driven Piece - Kiss of the Spiderwoman

I just thought this one was so impressive and intricate.  Cool Broadway.
Runner Up: Hypnotist, also Crime Scene again

Best Pretty Romantic Contemporary - Kissing You

Gosh, there are so many of these.  But I have to say, this is just a personal favorite because I love Aaron, I love Kathryn, and the teenage girl in me just loves this song.

Runner Up: Can't Make You Love Me

Best Unique Number - Inside Mark's Head

This season featured a few new choreographers who brought some interesting new styles to the show.  Including former contestant Mark!  I just loved this!  It was so different and hilarious.
Runner up: Hip Jazz

Routine I Most Want to See Performed Again - Hangin' By A Thread

Because I want to see them get those straps right this time!!!

Best Small Group Routine - Three Tappers

Best tap routine that's ever been on this show.  And one of the best routines of this season, period.

Best Small Group Routine #2 - Sand

Ok, I had two favorite small group routines (really three, with the runner up).  The sand was just so awesome.
Runner Up: Young and Beautiful

Best Introductory Group Routine - Rocking Chairs

This was my favorite of the group routines at the beginning of the episode (with the exception of "All One Shot" - which I count in it's own category of awesomeness).

Best Same-Sex Pairing: Jasmine and Comfort on Bikes

Tough to choose between this and the Tucker/Robert number, but I felt like we've seen two dudes being dramatic in a Travis Wall piece before, and I liked that one better.
Runner Up: Tucker and Robert

So I didn't pick any ballroom routines.   Maybe I should have said the Argentine Tango?
